A blind's view

I wake up every morning just like you
Well its the same to me morn, night or noon

I am eating an apple that was lying near my bed
They say its bright and definitely red

Well I was never good at colours you see
They really are no meaning to me

Things you can touch and you see
I can sense and i can feel

I have a companion that's straight and thick
It's also called a walking stick

It guides me along through the dark alley
Well dark or bright its all the same to me

I read through holes in paper
I stich through them write another letter

Don't give me those pitiful stares
Try closing your eyes and climbing a stair

I am not unfortunate to be this way
God gave me this path cos I could walk it everyday

Mama I'm coming home

She stood at the doorway waving goodbye,
supressing every emotion that could make her cry.

I care less for all this cos my bus is on time,
I need to catch it to make another dime.

This time she wonders how long before I'm back,
to be frank I myself don't keep track.

When I reach the house in the alien place,
I wish when the door will open i could see her face.

When i sleep on the pillow,
I dream of her lap and her hand on my brow

She's the most beautiful person on the planet you see,
to make her smile is the only mission for me.

When i reach home i always get the biggest dream,
to eat the best cake covered with cream.

Her cooking is of no match for any dame,
I'm sure the manna from heaven must taste the same.

I sit around and share my problems with her,
but she always has an answer for my every bother

Her touch is the cure of every sickness,
and calms my heart when it is restless.

And still the day comes when i have to go,
yet she will ready my bags and me from head to toe.

And then she will weep and be sad for days to come,
until a day when the phone whistles a silent humm.

With my voice saying for something she waited for so long,
Her face brightens like she's going to sing a song

She's waited for this day too long you know,
She waited to hear the words "Mama, I'm coming home!"

The shot in the dark

It was just another conversation,
which was started with a greeting and set in motion.

Then he started the jokes and was content,
to see her laugh to full extent.

He then started flirting and she played on,
both of them enjoying the moment and having fun.

Then she had to say goodbye and she gave him a hug,
It felt good cos before he always left with a shrug.

He never had a thought about her before,
and now he felt they could go on for another minute or four.

Now he only thinks about when they will meet again,
And hopes to bridge all the gaps that remain.

For now, he dreams on cos there is where he can see her,
and no one can stop him from going closer.

But till the time they get in touch again,
he hopes his shot in the dark doesn't go in vain
